A NAS are network gateway equipment that control user access to network, Kiwire™ is an advanced intelligent AAA with captive portal management platform, NAS will be managed by Kiwire™ to perform network authentications for users and captive portal. Kiwire™ are compatible with following popular NAS equipment brands such as:

  • Aruba
  • Mikrotik
  • Ruckus Scz
  • Zebbra
  • Ubiquiti UAP
  • CMCC
  • Meraki
  • Huawei
  • Fortigate
  • WifiDog
  • Xirrus
  • Chilispot
  • Ruijie wireless network range
  • Nomadix
  • Sundray
  • and other radius compliant NAS

The number of NAS device allow to add to Kiwire™ platform are base on your license purchased. Kiwire™ is able to unify multiple hardware vendors and legacy networks to a centrally managed Wi-Fi platform.

Manage NAS

To access the NAS module click on Devices > NAS from the navigation. On the NAS listing module, you may search for specific NAS device by using the search field. Please refer to Device/Equipment setup guide for instruction on adding respective NAS to Kiwire™.

The field and its function description is listed below.

Field Meaning & Function
NAS ID Identity of the NAS equipment.
IP ADDR IP address of the NAS equipment.
Type Model of the NAS equipment.
Location Location of NAS equipment.
Description Remark or description of NAS equipment.
Action Modules action:

  To edit the NAS equipment.

  To delete the NAS equipment.

 To set cloud id f0r the NAS equipment.

Add NAS Device

To add a new NAS device, click on “Add NAS” button and populate the required fields. Fill in the field to complete the process.

The field and its function description is listed below.

Field Function
Device Type Select the relevant NAS device type, if unsure please select the default “Mikrotik” as device type.
NAS Identifier A unique name to identify the NAS equipment.

* NOTE : Mikrotik NAS, please use device identity.

IP Address IP address of the NAS devices.

NOTE : Its important to put in the correct. IP Address of the NAS as it use as part of authentication. Kiwire™ will reject unknown IP NAS device IP address as well as advance feature that utilize COA (change of authority).

Shared Secret Key The Secret password that the NAS will use to communicate with Kiwire™.
COA Port The change of authority (COA) listening port of the NAS device, this is use for sending disconnect user command or change profile on the fly for user.

E.g. Default port is 3799.

NAS Username The administrator username that is use to manage and monitor the NAS.
NAS password The password for the administrator username used.
Address The postal address of the NAS equipment is located. This is use for map monitoring function as well.
Description The description or remark of the NAS equipment.
Community Community string to allow SNMP access to this device.
SNMPV The device SNMP version.
MIB Management Information Base (MIB) to be use in the SNMP request.

Import NAS

Kiwire™ NAS module also come with add NAS device in bulk function, which provide you capability to add hundred or thousand of NAS devices at one go. To access it click on the “Import NAS” button. The import NAS from CSV file screen will be displayed.

Download the sample CSV file template via “Click here to download sample template” link that given. A sample CSV file will be downloaded. Open the file and fill up with your spreadsheet editor and upload back to the Import NAS function.

Edit/Delete NAS Device

Click the edit icon on the listing screen to edit the NAS device. The edit screen be display which you can edit the setting of the NAS devices. Click on the delete icon to delete the NAS devices. A prompt will be display to ask for your confirmation to proceed to delete the NAS devices. Please exercise with cautions as this not a reversible action.
