Kiwire™ 1.6 Chapter 6 : Account

The account tab let you manage the overall users account related functionality of Kiwire™ from plan, user account, prepaid and business centre account.

6.1 Plan

Plan/package is similar to user profile, the Plan let you manage a profile which how long the user are allowed to connect to the network, how much to bill, how much bandwidth is given to the user. With the plan module you can manage all the above and more.

New Plan

Field Function
Plan Name The Name of the plan
Plan Type See table bellow
Minutes The allowed time of minutes given

*Note : 1 day will be 1440 Minutes

Price The price of the plan , except for type “Pay as you use ” which
the price will be per minutes basis
Xfer Quota Enable or disable volume transfer limit
Xfer Quota in GB The limit of volume transfer in GB.
EDX Which EDX to charge to
Iddle Timeout How long the iddle time of user will detected before disconnected by system
Simultaneous User How many user can be connected using the same user account associated with this plan.
Download Bandwidth cap In Kbps how much download speed is user allowed.
*note : 1mb = 1024
Upload Bandwidth cap In Kbps how much upload speed is user allowed to use.
*note : 1mb = 1024
Access Time login policy If enable , it will only allow user to login using this plan on define login time.
Mon..Sun From [ Hour : Min ] to [ Hour : Min ] , select allow if you wish the user be able to login the whole day .


Plan Type Result
Countdown A countdown plan type, which user minutes are deducted
only when they are online
Expiration A countdown plan type but countdown started the moment the
user first login to network until the minutes is finished regardless if the user is connected or not.
Free A Free plan that does not have minutes/credit restriction
Pay as you use A plan that let you charge on usage basis on how much the user
consume the internet usage on minute basis. The Price will be use for
per minute charges.

6.2 Plan Advance

The Plan Advance module will automatically throttle user to a different plan when they hit their limit. the plan will be reset to the original plan based on reset-type setting. With this module you can provide a Plan with 20MB download with 5GB volume transfer quota, when user reach the 5GB quota limit , the user will be throttle down to a secondary plan such as 5mb download speed.

Threshold When reach the limit in Gb
Change to this Plan the Plan will be applied to user
*note usually a slower plan
Auto Reset back enable if you want user to be automatically reset to original define plan based on reset type.
Reset Type Schedule the reset to Daily, Monthly or Yearly

6.3 List Prepaid

Prepaid are voucher user that is generated by Kiwire™. prepaid user are usually short term and 1 time off user. Click on

searchicon to view the the user prepaid account

delicon to to delete the prepaid account.

*note : deleted prepaid account are represented by account with strike through like “SYN1101

6.4 View Prepaid Account

The View prepaid account let you view information related to the prepaid account.
The Overview Tab let you view

Prepaid Account Detail The Prepaid account detail such as
Account information, Plan pricing , Status of account is active or inactive and Remark.
User Plan The associated plan to the prepaid account
Usage information Total login , volume and time used
Account creation information When the account is created , by who and when it will be expired.
Last 20 Activity The recent 20 login activity by the account, for detail of all the activity , click on the “Transaction Log” tab

k82The Edit Account tab let you manage the prepaid account such as change password, apply vlan restriction , The “Reset Account Button” will archive the transaction and thus reset the account, the “Reset Mac Address Button” will reset the MAC address registered with the prepaid account.

6.5 New Prepaid Plan

The new prepaid plan module let you create a single or bulk prepaid/voucher based on the quantity specify.

Field Function
Prefix Prefix of the prepaid to be generated
Quantity The no of Prepaid to be generated
Plan The plan associated with prepaid to be generated
Expiry Validity of prepaid account to be generated. The expiry
will be used even if the account is not being used.
Remark Remark of the prepaid generated.

6.6 List User

The List user module will list all user created by administrator in Kiwire™ system.

Click on

searchicon to view the the user account

delicon to to delete the user account.

*Note : user deleted will be totally erased from the system unlike the prepaid account.

6.7 View User

The view user let you view / manage the user account the overview screen provide you with key user activity and plan associated.

Click on transaction log tab to view the last 20 login transaction , it will list the mac address , brand or device brand of the , time and volume usage.


Click on Edit to account tab to edit the account.

Field/Button Function
User Information/Password Update the user information or change its password
Change user plan & EDX Change the current associated plan or edx to a new Plan or edx
Change Login page Change the login page associated with the user
Add Subscription Change the subscription / expiry date of the user
[ Diagnostic Account ] Perform account diagnostic to the account to check
[ Reset Account ] Archive all transaction by this user, thus reset the credit to 0


the insight tab, will let you have an insight view of the user account .

Social Network connector  Display  the information and demo graphic information of user if the account is a social network account.
Insight Login The Last Login of user to network within your network and InSight Network  *note* : refer to appendix on Insight Network
User Cloud Tag User associated websites and interest.
Recent top 10 website The last top 10 website user connected to.
User Presence  Detected user presence frequency via insight network. which is if user is also connected to other Kiwire™ Network which join InSight network, the co-shared data will be displayed. Large text will indicate most frequent physical location user is detected.

6.8 New User

The New User module let you create add new user into the system


Field Function
Username The Username for the user to be created,
*Note use
room no as usernername if use EDX:PMS to update room status
Fullname The full name of the user
Password Password associated with the user
E-Mail E-mail address associated with the user
Phone No Mobile phone no associated with the user.
*Note : this no will be use for SMS send to.
Mac address Mac address associate with the user , if enable mac
Default Plan Set the plan that the user will be associated
Authentication EDX module Internal: Default internal Database
EDX:PMS : if uses PMS check-in/check-out as in as authentication data source
EDX: Business Center: if this account is to be use in business center module.
EDX:Active directory : If use Microsoft AD as authentication
EDX: LDAP : if you use LDAP as authentication
Apply Vlan Restriction None : user are able to login from anywhere within the network or Select vlan restriction grouping so the user can only be allowed to login from selected vlan zone.
Link to page An override if , a page is selected it will overwrite the
page defaulted or link to the vlan or nas
Expiry The Validity of account to be generated. The expiry will
be used even if the account is not being used.

6.9 Import User

The Import user module , let you create bulk user from a csv file. Download the Sample file to use it as your template and fill it up with relevant information and use the wizard to upload

Field Purpose
Upload .csv file Browse and select the completed .csv file for import process
Link with plan The plan which will be associated with all user imported
Authentication EDX module The authentication EDX module to be used.
Apply VLAN restriction Validity of prepaid account to be generated. The expiry
will be used even if the account is not being used.
Expiry The expiry date of account to be imported


6.10 Bulk User Modification

The Bulk user modification module let you manage user in bulk . you are able to chage the users plan , reset and delete users.


Select the user from “Current Users (plan) ” selection box, you may use filter entries , using the filter entries . if you wish to assign new plan select “new plan” and click on the change plan button. or select user and click either delete or reset account.


6.11 Business Centre

The Business Center module is similiar to Kiosk user module, The module functionality is to provide user to be able to use the internet in a given duration and when the user finish the duration the operator can terminate the session and provide a billing on the spot.


Create Business Centre user.
As the business centre users are predefined, you need to create the users at start, it’s recommended to create user based on the PC/Station name e.g. BC1 ~ BC10 for station 1 to to 5 for example

  1. Create Plan with EDX of Business Centre, type by “Pay as you use” and the amount to charge per minutes.
  2. Create user and select the plan of Business centre.
  3. Click on Business Centre Module and you see those Business Centre user listing.

Operation Guide

  1. Let the Guest Login into the network using the Business Centre login, If its VLAN port,
    *note: use autologin -> term & condition for seamless experience.
  2. When the guest logout or operator disconnect the user using the “Remote disconnect” option .
  3. Click on “[ $ ] ” to make payment for the guest.

*note : The Business Centre Payment module will show the amount due and the Bill amount, as during some operation, you may give a different billing please update the “Bill Amt” and provide reason for the variance.

4.Click [printer] to print Receipt

6.12 Auto Reset

The Auto reset module will automatically reset all user associated with the plan . The reset function will reset the credit/minutes used back to zero , so user can use the account fresh . the schedule supported are daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.
